If you are looking to get into boat fishing, you can’t get a better start than with captain Dave and his crew. We had a great time on the boat, met some wonderful people and heard some interesting stories!! Even if we didn’t catch anything, we would have been satisfied but we ended up catching two, a keeper and a slotty. Capt dave works tirelessly and keeps putting you on the right spots. Brendan and crew work hard to keep the lines untangled, netting your fish and ready with a joke or three ;) . We’ll be back once warmer weather returns !!

I rate Dave as an Angler whose knowledge and love of oceanic fishing is overwhelming. I went out on the first Purple Jet. The old one was Jet Drive. Boy did she run smooth. Chartered for a Business Team Building Exercise. At least thats what we called it to get the boss to pay for it. Non Stop fishing action all afternoon. Since then I have been out on the Purple Jet up to 3 times a season for Tuna, Striper, Maco, Bluefish, and my favorite meal, Mahi. I have never been skunked. Over the last decade I have found Captain Dave to be a good, honest family man and friend. I have been on other boats and always compare them to the Jet and Crew. None measure up. I have seen Humpbacks and Baluga whales and many dolphin and porpoise. Giant sunfish and schools of fish that make the bait jump out of the water like it is raining. Some of the absolute best times of my life have been floating in the middle of the Atlantic on the Jet. I say it once again. You gotta trust your Captain.

I have fished with Captain Dave for many years, mostly for striped bass. What makes this charter unique beyond the high catch rate - is that it is a hands-on fishing with light tackle options. Captain Dave is also a great fisherman so if the action slows down - you will find him in the cockpit working extra hard to try different techniques or up on the bridge with binoculars, a cell phone and a chart to make sure we go back to the dock with fish and a great story. Captain Dave it the hardest working and focussed captain that I have ever been out with and I rely solely on him for my personal and business related fishing trips. Last summer, Capt Dave and his deckhand Rick, showed our family a wonderful time! We departed the Canyon River Club at 2:30 pm for the Family Fishing Special. The boat was very clean and looked to be well maintained. My biggest worry about being on a boat for a few hours was the bathroom, but it was immaculate. Our family had never been deep sea fishing and my nephew Matt, 8 years old, was very excited. On our way out to the fishing grounds Rick went over all the fishing rods and gave instructions, just to make sure we had an idea of what to do. When we started to fishing, Capt Dave was on the deck helping us with the technique and Rick was busy netting fish and baiting our hooks. Matt's first fish was a Sea Robin, a funny looking fish with wing like side fins and pretty purple eyes. Capt Dave later told Matt he had to check on something and sure enough a keeper size fluke was on the line for Matt to reel in. He was all smiles from ear to ear.

Just wanted to thank you for an excellent trip yesterday. Our family truly enjoyed it and I'm sure we'll be talking about it for a long time! It was certainly everything we expected and more. Though I have known Dave for a probably more than a few years now through my brother, the closest Ive been to fishing with him is chasing him down and mugging him on his spots! Well, I had the opportunity to fish on the Jet this past September so I jumped at the chance. Target was inshore bluefin. Dave tried maybe two spots that, according to his log, held fish at that time in the past, with only bluefish to show. The third move was the ticket. We got them going on the jig, and going good. Solid action all day, brought an easy 30-40 to the boat and lost as many more. By the end of the day we were jigging them on 12# spinning gear. Easily my best inshore tuna trip in 25 years. Without a doubt. Dave knows what he is doing, is disciplined, and has a logbook spanning spanning many years. The boat is roomy with possibly the largest cockpit of any boat I have fished on, it leaves more than enough room for six to fish without being on top of each other. I highly recommend Dave and his

He caters to all experience levels and makes sure that all aboard have a great experience. Equipment is excellent and boat is comfortable, fast and clean. Great Fishing

What can I say. I grew up with Captain Dave of the Purple Jet. I have such vivid memories of driving down the Parkway at 4 in the morning excited for our day on the high seas. Today, Dave has fulfilled his dream. He only ever wanted to be captain of a fishing vessel. And not just a captain, the BEST captain. I don't know about you, but I have been skunked many times on a party boat or even a charter. Dave knows his stuff so well I can honestly say I have never gone out and not caught a fish....and not just one, MANY!!! The Purple Jet brings all the equipment, a great first mate, comfort, music and phenomenal know how!! I love to fish but to be honest, I have to say, I love to fish on the PURPLE JET!!!! I have not been disappointed on the two fishing trips I took on Purple Jet Fishing Charters! On my trip 5/20/10 I caught Stripers until I was TIRED of catching Stripers! Captain Dave & Captain John were nothing but helpful. We caught so many fish (legal size) we ended up releasing a number of them. It was an AMAZING day of fishing. I look forward to doing it again Great Charter
